For those who care
The Commentator

To whom it may concern

The recent pronouncement by Pope Benedict 16th inviting Anglican clergy to jump ship complete with any wives should alert clergy and laity alike to the true nature of this man and of his church.

He has already declared that the Anglican Church has no validity. Quite clearly he embraces the long pursued Vatican aim to recover a lost province.

This imposter has more in common with a god emperor of the long dead Roman Empire than he does with anything taught by Jesus. His concern is more with political power than with safe passage to an after-life.

He would impose the mediaeval mumbo jumbo of saints and relics and all the bells and smells of altar magic upon a sceptical population. He seeks to recover the authority repudiated by King Henry VIII and two of his well educated children. The top seat at the top table is what he wants.

Those who foolishly toy with the idea of Christian unity should know that for this man that means submission to Rome. That means amongst many things submission to a regime which in more than one country has not only tolerated but sought actively to conceal unspeakable abuse of the young and vulnerable. That was not in historical time but in the here and now.

Those who have foolishly invited this enemy of Protestant Britain to these shores in 2010 should think again. He is not welcome.
